The character of Buffy Anne Summers, aka, the Chosen One, aka, the Slayer sprang from the fertile imagination of Joss Whedon. First, there was the movie (1992, starring Kristy Swanson), which most (even Joss) will tell you was just terrible, but then came the television series, and the television universe profoundly changed, perhaps forever.
A remarkably witty television series (1997 to 2003, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar), with themes serious enough to catch the attention of college professors, yet just plain fun enough to inspire the young (and the young at heart), Buffy the Vampire Slayer has entertained millions of all ages and nationalities, and spawned countless novels, comic books, video games, clothing and collectibles.
Let’s face it. This ol’ world just wouldn’t be half as tolerable, or half as much fun, without Buffy!
